How To Make Your Home Spring Ready

Styling Guides

Spring is the perfect time to review, refresh and redesign you home. If you love nothing more than changing the throw pillows on your sofa from season to season, adopt the same approach for your coffee table. A simple arrangement of seasonally appropriate flowers, along with complementary candles and coffee table books, are all it takes.

No. 1 Paint Colours For a Spring

One of my go-to paint colour is Cornforth White by Farrow & Ball. It looks great in just about any space and has the perfect amount of warmth in it, which keeps it from being too harsh.

No. 2 Spring Fragrance

When it comes to choosing the right fragrance, I like to go with citrus for kitchens and open-plan living areas, which cuts through cooking smells without being too overpowering. For the bathroom and cloakroom, I like to choose something fresh and classic.

No. 3 Flowers

I absolutely adore flowers everywhere in my house, but obviously that is quiet expensive to have fresh flowers.

For many, the idea of faux flowers conjures up images of tacky, but over the last few years, the quality of artificial blooms on the market has seriously improved. To create the perfect faux display, I suggest starting with lots of the same stems of flower or foliage in a vase. For me, faux flowers and foliage are a way of adding a natural vibe to my home that just wouldn’t be possible with the real thing. Pampas grass are so easy to style and look great in oversized statement vases – these can be so difficult to fill with fresh flowers.
